**Example 1: To invoke a Lambda function synchronously**

The following ``invoke`` example invokes the ``my-function`` function synchronously. ::

    aws lambda invoke \
        --function-name my-function \
        --payload '{ "name": "Bob" }' \
        response.json

Output::

    {
        "ExecutedVersion": "$LATEST",
        "StatusCode": 200
    }
